The character scrubber, metadata stripper and provenance check all run as JavaScript in your browser. Your input is held in page memory and discarded when you close the tab.

No content is transmitted to any server, ours or anyone else's. This is verifiable: open your browser's network panel and watch it stay empty while you use the tools.

Standard web server request logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — retained by our hosting provider for operational and security purposes.

Google Analytics, to see which pages people actually read. It records page views, approximate location from IP, device and browser, and how you arrived. It does not receive anything you type or upload into the tools, because that never leaves your browser in the first place.

We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share data with data brokers.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to distinguish one visitor from another across pages. That is the only cookie use on this site.

You can block it with any content blocker, or with your browser's Do Not Track setting, and nothing on the site will stop working — the tools do not depend on it.

If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply to it. Nothing else.

Google Analytics is the one third-party script that runs on these pages. Google's own privacy terms govern what it does with what it collects.

We also link out to Anthropic's documentation, standards bodies and news organisations. Those sites have their own policies, and following a link takes you outside this one.
